This very cool couple’s outdoor wedding ceremony featured autumn colors at the Arnold Arboretum in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a gem of a park that is part of Boston’s Emerald Necklace stretch of parkland designed by Frederick Law Olmsted that straddles the Jamaica Plain and Roslindale sections of the city. They kept it low-key, with a small gathering, and a pair of friends who became legally ordained for the day to perform their Arnold Arboretum wedding ceremony. Cuteness abounds with a little one thinking the day was all about meeting dogs in a park. These two medical professionals had a close group of family and friends present on a fine sunny day in Boston to mark their wedding day. We started with portraits first- there was no first look as this was a low-key, non-traditional affair. This allowed them to grab chartered buses right after the ceremony for an easy ride to the College Club of Boston for their wedding reception and dinner. The ceremony was held in a spot of this famous Boston park called the Leventritt Shrub and Vine Garden. Guests gathered on a set of steps to witness their wedding vows, and afterwards, we made sure to get a photograph of all present with the newly married couple. This was a short and sweet event, but memorable for the relaxed atmosphere and gentle people marking an important occasion with those most important to them. I appreciated the opportunity to photograph this intimate event. Not all weddings are extravagant events, but all are important to me, and to those present. What a great day for these folks.
