OUR FILMMAKING PROCESS:
Wedding videography by Fort Point Media is characterized by a narrative approach minimizing the presence of effects in favor of motion pictures and soundscapes to tell the wedding story, with thoughtful editing to match the feel of the event. I spend time with each couple to get to know you and your wedding day plans. A personal dedication to each couple is the foundation for a truly great wedding film for you.
THE WEDDING DAY:
We’ll coordinate with your vendors. We might ask you to wear a lapel microphone for intimate, up-close sound during vows. But other than that, we work to be present, ready to capture important scenes, but never in your way. You’re free to be yourself, and that’s what we want to show. From quiet moments to lively party, my goal is for you to feel at ease, and that’s achieved with my approach.
Each client receives a short wedding highlight reel which can be shared on platforms of choice, much like videos shared in this gallery below. These will have a musical underscore with licensed music.
Couples also receive a series of films that correspond to chapters of their wedding day, like preparation, ceremony and the party! We’ll incorporate sound from the wedding ceremony and toasts at the reception. This isn’t just a play by play of the day- there’s plenty of cinematography. With attention to the shot selection, details, the setting, camera angles, depth of field, movement and a variety of other techniques we’ll create wedding videos with visually rich and compelling scenes.
We use the latest in professional video production equipment, such as HDSLR cameras which allows for a cinemetic film feel with a documentary approach. This equipment allows us to maintain a narrow depth of field which makes the subject in focus stand out from the background similar to large-scale movie production gear would allow. Also, our cameras are capable of very low light recording so that our video maintains the mood and feel of your event while allowing us to be as unobtrusive as possible by limiting the need for bright and distracting on-camera lighting. We have a variety of microphones to help record clear audio and mix for rich sound.

I produced a Wychmere Beach Club wedding video in Harwich Port, Massachusetts, right at the elbow of the Cape Cod peninsula in early spring. Sometimes that time of year can be right on the edge of being chilly outdoors, but not this day. Perfect sunny weather made for a great outdoor ceremony. These two did ….Read More
Recipe for a scenic rural barn wedding: lake views from high angles, a woodland ceremony, lanterns, silk curtains, pine bough covered barn walls and fireworks. They are all featured in this wedding video. I traveled to Vermont to produce this wedding video reel for two longtime camp counselors on their September wedding in the ….Read More
